Your guide

A European story.

Strasbourg was love at first sight. A European capital with French and German roots and an international outlook, it was the first place I truly felt at home.

Perhaps that’s no surprise. I was born in the Netherlands, grew up in Germany, studied tourism across Europe and began my career in luxury travel in the UK. Strasbourg’s mix of French and German culture felt familiar, while giving me so much more to discover.

I’ve called it home since 2019. The longer I live here, the more questions I have. Who lived behind these façades? What brought them here? How did the city’s changing borders shape their everyday lives? I love following those threads and finding the human stories that help a place make sense.

I’m easygoing by nature, enthusiastic about history and always happy when a question takes us somewhere unexpected. Sharing what I’ve learned is a pleasure, especially when it becomes a conversation. Everyone notices something different, and that’s part of what makes guiding so enjoyable.

There’s a lot I’d love to show you. Let’s find a good place to start.

Before we set off

A few useful
answers.

Choosing a tour or wondering about the practical details? Start here, or ask me directly.

Are the tours private?

Yes. Every tour is exclusively for you and your group. You won’t be joining strangers. The listed prices cover up to 8 guests; for a larger group, please ask for a separate quote.

Which languages can I choose?

I guide in English, German, French and Dutch. Tell me your preferred language when you enquire.

Which tour should I choose?

For a first visit, the 2-hour Strasbourg Essentials walk introduces Petite France and the cathedral quarter. The 3-hour Two Cities, One Story walk adds Neustadt for a fuller picture. A 3-hour bicycle tour lets us cover more ground. You can also choose a 1-hour neighbourhood walk or plan something personal.

Where do we meet, and what should I bring?

Each tour page explains its meeting arrangements. The exact meeting point is confirmed with your booking. Bring comfortable shoes, clothing suited to the weather and a bottle of water. Bicycle rental is extra and arranged separately for cycling tours.

Can the tour accommodate my group’s needs?

Please tell me about your pace, interests and any practical access requirements before booking. Some streets have cobbles or uneven surfaces, so we’ll discuss the suitability of the route together. Larger groups and personalised arrangements are quoted separately.

What happens if it rains?

Walking tours normally go ahead in ordinary rain, with route adjustments where appropriate. Bicycle tours can proceed in light rain, but safety depends on conditions. If I cancel before departure because conditions are unsafe, you can choose an available replacement date or a full refund. See the terms and conditions for the full weather and cancellation policy.
